Day Tour in Bohol

Neil & I went for a day tour in the province of Bohol during our stay in the Philippines. We would've liked to have stayed overnight, but we just weren't sure what our schedule was going to be like since we were going to visit Bagtic for a few days. Anyway, we managed to spend a day there, touring around and our guide and driver were great! It was like a private tour because it was just Neil and myself. =) It was great! And we have the pictures to prove it!

This is one of the older buildings in Bohol.

A rice field that we saw on our drive towards the river boat for lunch.

This was one of many views we saw during our lunch on the river boat. If you look closely, you can see a house.

On the way back to the dock, we stopped at one of these spots along the shore where they had some singers and dancers greet us. It was pretty cool. These are couple of the old folks dancing....

...and here we have some filipino dancing. It was awesome. Hopefully the quality of this video is alright.

...and some more dancing.

Neil & I on the river boat with the 2 singers in the background.

This was an old church that we could see from the boat and we were able to visit it on the way back to the ferry to Cebu. Unfortunately we weren't able to take too many pictures inside.

This was on our way up to see the Chocolate Hills. Ironically, there are 214 steps which they call the Valentine Steps. But it wasn't too romantic...look at Neil. He's all tuckered out and we still had quite a way to go! *lol*

This was one of many views we were rewarded with.

Another rice field with a water buffalo doing it's job. Neil jokingly refers to them as 'tractors'. Our tour guide thought that was amusing. =)

Me with a new friend: a tarsier, the smallest primate in the world. They're actually kind of cute, in a weird sort of way.

Get that thing off my head!!!!

And here's Neil with a tarsier. I bet the little guy had quite the view from being so high up!!! *lol*

Unfortunately, my camera ran out of batteries after this. But then, it was alright because not only did it start raining, but we were at the end of our tour.

Enjoy the pics!! =)

Manila & Cebu, Philippines

This is the hotel that we stayed at in Manila.  And the one we will be returning to.  When we were in Bagtic, everyone was saying that they would try and contact Esoy who also works in Manila and he will meet us here.  =)  How nice would that be??!!

I'm not sure what this vehicle is called; maybe someone can help us out.  But they are everywhere!  They even have some that are bicycles rather than motorcycles.  Neil & I actually had the chance to ride both in Bagtic.  It was pretty neat.  Only problem was, Neil's legs were too long and he couldn't fit properly.  *lol*

This is in front of the City Hall government building that Uncle Nigel works at.

One view of Cebu City from the Taoist Temple.

One of the gardens...

Another government building.

Another view of Cebu.

Uncle Nigel & Me (Mel...hehehe) @ San Pedro Historical Park.

A canon because Neil has some sort of weird obsession with them...must be an engineering thing...

Filipino flag.  =)

A Hallway from one of the oldest houses in Cebu...

Anyone for a game of Sunka??  =)

Monument in Lapu-Lapu.

Having some ice cream because it was soooo hot!!!

In front of one of the beautiful sea views at a resort called Shangri-La.  We wanted to stay there but it's pretty pricey...*lol*

And that was the end of our 'tour' in Cebu.

Many thanks to Uncle Ferdinand, Tita Dawn, Uncle Nigel & Auntie Emma for guiding us around.  =)
