University of the Sunshine Coast...my 2nd home!

So I’ve finally managed to take some pictures of my school.  I was hoping to have this entry on here sooner, but as everyone knows, school kind of gets busy once it’s underway.  But whenever there was an opportunity, I’d snap a picture here and there, and finally I’ve got all the ones that I need to take.  Buy there aren’t a lot because the school is pretty small.

I’ll take a moment to point out that the schools here are quite different than the ones in Canada, mostly because the ‘hallways’ are all outdoors.  To get from one class to another you have to walk outside, and if it’s raining, well, you have to make sure that you have an umbrella handy because sometimes you have no choice but to walk out in the open.  It’s only happened a couple of times, but I always carry an umbrella with me!  (As a side note, the elementary schools (called ‘primary schools’) and the high schools are outside as well.  And in primary, some of the lessons are outside.  So you could have kids sitting outside of the classroom with their teachers.  It’s pretty neat.  But the weather here can allow for that sort of thing!)

Another thing about the school is that there is a family of kangaroos that roam the campus.  It’s become such a regular occurrence that when I see them it doesn’t faze me anymore.  However, it’s taken me all semester to get a picture of them.  And a couple of the females have given birth to joeys so you’d see some of the kangaroos with a little head sticking out of the pouch.  It’s really cute.  :)
Anyway, this is my school.  There’s really not much to it because it’s so small.  *lol*

Wierd coloured bird..not sure what the name it is though!

The University is new, founded in i994. The location must be one of the most scenic in Queensland, Australia. With a 100 hectare campus & its proximity to one of the best beaches in the planet, it has the potential of becoming a big university soon.

As of now enjoy the open concept campus & the kangaroos that share it with the currently not too numerous student populace.

Enjoy your stay at the Sunshine Coast Kikay. Say hi to Neil.
