Manila & Cebu, Philippines

This is the hotel that we stayed at in Manila.  And the one we will be returning to.  When we were in Bagtic, everyone was saying that they would try and contact Esoy who also works in Manila and he will meet us here.  =)  How nice would that be??!!

I'm not sure what this vehicle is called; maybe someone can help us out.  But they are everywhere!  They even have some that are bicycles rather than motorcycles.  Neil & I actually had the chance to ride both in Bagtic.  It was pretty neat.  Only problem was, Neil's legs were too long and he couldn't fit properly.  *lol*

This is in front of the City Hall government building that Uncle Nigel works at.

One view of Cebu City from the Taoist Temple.

One of the gardens...

Another government building.

Another view of Cebu.

Uncle Nigel & Me (Mel...hehehe) @ San Pedro Historical Park.

A canon because Neil has some sort of weird obsession with them...must be an engineering thing...

Filipino flag.  =)

A Hallway from one of the oldest houses in Cebu...

Anyone for a game of Sunka??  =)

Monument in Lapu-Lapu.

Having some ice cream because it was soooo hot!!!

In front of one of the beautiful sea views at a resort called Shangri-La.  We wanted to stay there but it's pretty pricey...*lol*

And that was the end of our 'tour' in Cebu.

Many thanks to Uncle Ferdinand, Tita Dawn, Uncle Nigel & Auntie Emma for guiding us around.  =)

Good overview of historic Cebu City famous for its hard working pioneering people. This was where Sergio Osmena 4th president of the Philippines came from. Also from Bogo, Cebu a bootblack later known as Gabriel "Flash" Elorde also grew up learning the "sweet science" which eventually made him world champion & a place in the "Boxing Hall of Fame".

Regards from Riverside.
